Monkey's Big Mistake

Once upon a time, In a big forest, there lived two monkeys named Montu and Bunny. They both thought they were very smart and proud of how clever they were.

One day, while walking through the forest, they saw a deep well. They looked inside and were surprised to see the crocodile trapped at the bottom.
Montu: “Look, Bunny! A crocodile fell into the well. He must be in trouble. We need to help him right away”

Bunny thought for a moment and asked, “But how did he fall into the well? That seems strange”.

Montu: Maybe it was a mistake. But let's not worry about that now. We need to figure out how to save him.

As they talked, an elephant walked by and saw them near the well. He asked, What are you doing two here?

Montu: We are trying to help this crocodile that fell into the well.

The elephant shook his head and said, The crocodile did not fall in by mistake. He was put there as punishment because he was mean to others in the forest.

Montu (Didn't Agree): But it's not fair to trap someone in a well, even if they did something wrong.

Elephant (Warned):   Be careful with what you do. Think before you act.

Even though the elephant warned them, Montu and Bunny decided to help the crocodile anyway. Bunny found a rope.

Bunny: Let's pull him out.

Bunny went into the well, tied the rope around the crocodile, and he & Montu pulled him together. But after the crocodile was free, Montu and Bunny started arguing about who deserved the credit for saving him.  

While they were busy arguing, the crocodile took his chance. He suddenly attacked Montu and swallowed him in one big gulp. Bunny was terrified and ran away as fast as he could.

He climbed up a mango tree to escape. The crocodile sat down under the tree, and waited.

Bunny (Safely on the tree): I am eating these sweet mangoes, and that silly crocodile is sitting there hungry. If he stays there, he will starve.

After a few days, Bunny noticed the crocodile hadn't moved. He thought that the crocodile might be dead, so he dropped a mango on him to check. The crocodile did not move at all.

Bunny (Himself): He must be dead now. no one can survive without food for a long time.

Feeling safe, Bunny climbed down the tree. But as soon as he did, the crocodile suddenly sprang to life! He chased Bunny, caught him. and swallowed him too. 

Moral of the story:

Don't be too proud of your smarts. Listen to others and be careful with your actions.
